  • As a co-founder of ReMade, I’ve spent the past 2.5 years championing sustainable fashion, inspired by Cambodia’s cultural revival and vibrant art scene. My creativity and strategic vision help shape ReMade into a beacon of innovation for the fashion industry. In my free time, I draw inspiration from my heritage, fueling my passion for art and design. If my style were an upcycled creation, it would be a cozy, timeless blanket sweatshirt—warm, inviting, and enduring.

Founder

ReMade in Cambodia began in 2022 as a spark of inspiration from Alyssa Erin Kardos Loera. Living in Phnom Penh, Alyssa witnessed firsthand the immense textile waste impacting Cambodia’s environment and communities. Determined to make a difference, she brought together a group of passionate local artists and designers to transform this waste into something extraordinary: upcycled fashion that celebrates creativity, sustainability, and the richness of Cambodia’s culture.

What started as a grassroots project quickly grew into a thriving community of over 70 artists. Alyssa's vision was fueled by Cambodia’s cultural resurgence and its deep-rooted traditions in craftsmanship, as well as a desire to empower youth to see waste as a resource. From transforming discarded fabrics into stunning runway pieces to hosting hands-on workshops that engage the community, ReMade in Cambodia is on a mission to rewrite the narrative of textile waste.

With a team of driven 20-somethings turning the forgotten into fabulous, ReMade is proving that sustainability isn’t just practical—it’s powerful and beautiful. From local markets to international runways, we’re building a movement where upcycling becomes a way of life for our community and our planet. It’s more than fashion; it’s a call to action. Because when we can turn waste into wonder, anything is possible.
